Frequently Asked Questions

What is the plan for Sunday in-person services at St. Andrew's?

Due to recommendations of government and health authorities, we believe it is our responsibility to prioritize the health and well-being of our community by staggering in-person, smaller gatherings on Sundays at 8:30 am and 11:00 am.  We continue to create digital experiences for you and your family to worship together from the safety of your home, which is livestreamed every Sunday at 8:30 am.  You can also view the service anytime our website, Facebook, and YouTube.  We hope you will make plans to join us in-person and online.

Am I allowed to come to the church in person?

Yes, but we are asking for appointments at this time in an effort to restrict traffic through our building.  Please contact the church office by phone (302-736-1617 ext. 1), or by email (office@salcdover.org) to schedule a time for your visit.

What do I need to know before visiting the church in person?

Before walking into the building, a mask is required for all persons.  Delaware requires all school-age children and adults to wear masks when in public settings.  We ask that you not come to the building when you are feeling ill (fever, cough, aches, etc.).  We maintain tracing logs for contact tracing purposes, so we will ask you to provide your contact information upon entering the building.

How can I give my offering during this time?

Since the pandemic has begun, St. Andrew's has partnered with Tithe.ly as our online giving platform.  You can give from the comfort of your home on your mobile device through the Tithe.ly app or the Tithe.ly website.  You can also mail in your offering in the form of a check to 425 N. DuPont Hwy. Dover, DE 19901.  We are able to accept cash offerings, please contact the church office if you would like to do so.

FAQ

What We Are Doing

Here are the ways St. Andrew's is protecting everyone's health and safety.

Managing Capacity

We have limited the in-person activities and maintain strict attendance limits to adhere to current state and CDC recommendations for houses of worship.

Enforcing Use of Masks and Social Distancing

Masks covering the nose and mouth are required at all times inside the building.  Social distance markers are found throughout the building, and seating in the sanctuary has been arranged to maintain social distancing guidelines and to accommodate family groups.

Maintaining Trace Records

In the event someone who attended activities or meetings at the church tests positive for COVID-19, St. Andrew's will make every attempt to contact and inform other individuals who may have been exposed.

Sanitizing

After each event (worship, meeting, event, etc.) all common surfaces are disinfected using cleaners that are CDC approved for eliminating SARS-CoV-2.

How You Can Help

Volunteer for Cleaning and Sanitizing

In our efforts to keep our building clean and sanitized for everyone's use, we do need additional volunteers to assist in this effort.

Get Involved with the Church Service

For our digital services, we can always use volunteers for readers, assistant ministers, and digital greeters.  We're doing everything in our power to bring you the best worship experience possible.

Reach Out with Pastoral Care

During this time of social distancing, many of our home-bound and isolated community members are feeling lonely.  A member of our Pastoral Care team can give you the contact information for a member of our community who could use a phone call, and a friendly voice.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities to get involved, please contact the church office by phone (302-736-1617 ext. 1), or by email (office@salcdover.org) and they will direct you to the appropriate parties.

Thank you
